WELCOME TO KOHATU DEVELOPMENT LTD (KDL)
KDL provides safe and stimulating kaupapa Maori based programmes, catering to tamariki from pre-school to intermediate age, with diverse cultural backgrounds.
The programmes are designed to be fun and provide informal structured and unstructured social interaction and recreation in a friendly, caring environment, supporting holistic teaching to meet the needs and interest of individuals.
It incorporates similar activities that tamariki may experience at home and encourage them to pursue interests, sports and other out-of-school activities.
There is an emphasis on choice within a range of activities, quiet and active, group and individual. Tamariki are encouraged to initiate activities, take leadership roles, buddy younger tamariki and encourage others to participate in the activities. Our Tamariki resources teach the Maori holistic model of health, te whare tapa wha.
All activities are fully resourced
KDL Child Care programmes reflect cultural diversity and provides a well-managed service, enabling parents to engage in employment opportunities, confidently knowing their tamariki are in safe hands.
The safety of the children is the paramount consideration during programme provision.
